The Foundation House began hosting medical residents in July 2013. Since then, 36 general medicine residents and 13 surgical residents have enjoyed the use of the Foundation House during their internship at the Barrie Memorial Hospital and the Ormstown Medical Center. An internship at our Hospital can last from one to three months in duration.
The Foundation House is also made available to our Emergency Department Doctors as well as our Admitting Doctors. Since the beginning we have recorded over 20 stays by our doctors, for overnight or more, at the Foundation House.
In photo, Madeleine Greig, Chair of the Hospital Foundation, accepts a donation earmarked for the Foundation House in the amount of $2,000 from Chrystian Soucy, Mayor of the Municipality of Ormstown. This support will assist the Foundation in providing a quality environment for our residents and Doctors.
