MEDICAL RECRUITMENT:
A NEW RESIDENCE FOR MEDICAL RESIDENTS
Ormstown, May 28, 2013 – The Barrie Memorial Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce the acquisition of a residence near Barrie Memorial Hospital in Ormstown to accommodate medical residents practicing at the CSSS du Haut-Saint-Laurent. This investment is a valuable asset for medical recruitment in the Haut-Saint-Laurent region, addressing the shortage of medical personnel and encouraging physicians to practice in the area. According to Dr. Sylvie Prévost, Director of Medical Affairs at the CSSS du Haut-Saint-Laurent: “This is fantastic news. Acquiring this welcoming residence, equipped with all necessary amenities for medical residents, will help them enjoy life in our community and, hopefully, encourage them to settle here.”
The Foundation once again demonstrates its responsiveness to the needs of medical recruitment. For many years, the Barrie Memorial Hospital Foundation has been actively supporting the hospital by improving access to quality services for the community through financial contributions.
This residence is specifically designed for medical residents. A medical resident is a medical school graduate who is completing a three-year family medicine program in a hospital setting.
