Art sale benefiting the Foundation!

SALE OF ARTWORK BY A PAINTER TO BENEFIT CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS IN HAUT-SAINT-LAURENT, INCLUDING THE BARRIE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION Artist François Belpaire, a painter, engraver, and sculptor well-known in Haut-Saint-Laurent, will offer over 250 of his works at a large charity sale. The event will take place at the Alfred-Langevin Hall, 10 King Street in Huntingdon, on Saturday, May 10, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, May 11, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds from the sale will benefit four regional charitable organizations: the Barrie Memorial Hospital Foundation in Ormstown, Volunteer and Community Support Services (SABEC), the Petite bibliothèque verte, and the environmental group CRIVERT. The public is invited to browse the many paintings, engravings, drawings, and sculptures displayed at the Alfred-Langevin Hall in the "Château" of Huntingdon. Visitors can choose one or more works they would like to acquire. After registering their selection, they will be invited to donate an amount of their choice to one of the charitable organizations listed (a suggested donation is 20% of the regular price or more). Once the donation is made, they can simply take their chosen artwork home. Early visitors will have the best selection! François Belpaire hopes this initiative will ensure that the numerous pieces of art currently gathering dust in storage find new life adorning the walls of those who appreciate them. As a bonus, all the money raised will support worthwhile causes in the community. For those unfamiliar with Mr. Belpaire's diverse body of work, a preview can be found on his online gallery at www.francoisbelpaire.com. The artist, along with representatives from the charitable organizations, will be on hand to welcome, assist, and guide interested visitors.
