Sale of artworks benefiting the foundation

SALE OF ARTWORKS BENEFITING CHARITIES OF THE HAUT ST-LAURENT AMONG THEM THE BARRIE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION

The painter, engraver and sculptor François Belpaire, well known in the Haut-St-Laurent, will offer more than 250 of his works on the occasion of a big charity auction to be held at the Alfred-Langevin room at 10 King Street, Huntingdon, Saturday, May 10, 2014, from 10:00 to 16:00 and Sunday, May 11, from 13:00 to 16:00, to benefit four charities in the region. All proceeds from the sale will go entirely to the Barrie Memorial Hospital Foundation in Ormstown, to the voluntary support services (SABEC), the Little Green library or ecological group Crivert.

The public is invited to browse through the many paintings, prints, drawings and sculptures that will be accessible in the Alfred-Langevin room at the “Château” Huntingdon. Everyone can choose the works they would like to acquire. After recording his choice, they will be invited to make a donation according to their charity of choice among those cited (we suggest 20% of the regular price or better). The buyer can take his new artwork home immediately. The first to arrive will have the first choice!

The artist wants to make sure and the many artworks that are crammed into storage can finally come out of seclusion to appear on the walls of people who appreciate them, rather than gathering dust in a warehouse. As a bonus, all the money raised will help worthy causes in our community. For those unfamiliar with the very diverse works of Mr. Belpaire, they will find a good overview by visiting its online virtual gallery at: www.francoisbelpaire.com. The artist will be present, as well as representatives of charities, to welcome and assist those interested.
